About Amanya IP / Anna’s Story

Anna believes that learning about IP early empowers young people to protect their ideas, whether they’re making music, designing apps, or starting small businesses. Her youth-focused courses use fun examples from brands like Nike and Disney to show how IP works in real life. Anna’s story inspires USA youth to be creative and entrepreneurial, teaching them that understanding IP is the first step to turning their ideas into future opportunities and avoiding costly mistakes.

Challenges & Solutions

Designers and artists often struggle with the fear of having their work copied or used without permission, especially as the line between inspiration and infringement can be blurry.

Many creatives are unsure how to protect their digital and physical designs, lack awareness of their rights, and find legal processes complex and expensive. The rise of digital platforms has made unauthorized use and piracy easier, while proving ownership and enforcing rights remains a challenge for those without proper documentation or legal support.

Yes, you can-sometimes! If you’re just using a small part for a class assignment and not sharing it everywhere, it’s usually okay. But you can’t just copy and use a whole song, movie, or book.

Yes! Teachers can show movies, play music, or share poems and pictures in class as part of a lesson. This is allowed as long as it’s for teaching and not for making money.

Nope. You can’t copy or share whole books, movies, or songs. That’s not allowed unless you have special permission.

“Fair use” means you can use a small part of something for schoolwork, like quoting a paragraph in a report or using a short clip in a presentation. But you should only use what you really need, and always give credit.

Yes! Always say where you found anything you use. It’s the right thing to do and it helps you avoid trouble.

If your project is just for your class and not public, you can usually use small parts under fair use. If you want to post it online for everyone to see, you need to be more careful and may need permission.
