I have had the joy of having Owen Gleadall from Merlin as my guest on the latest Bringing IP to Life #ip2life show.
Merlin has been in business many years, building his venture to a place where it is completing on the global stage against Eventbrite, offering a very competitive alternative for those providing entertainment services.
Owen shared about his journey from setting up his first questionable business whilst in the airforce, going back to the family car business before going into printing and eventually setting up the start of Merlin.
Owen shares about the advice he was given in naming his business and the challenges of protecting what they were doing through intellectual property rights and how he helped shape the business to becoming the award winning business it is today.
Owen shares about the ongoing disputes he has in defending his trademark and how they see the importance of continuing to fight that so they can maintain their position in their industry. He shared how they managed to save the fruit farms and create a solution for eating out during lockdown, by providing ways to manage people whist maintaining safety and manage.
